Select the LOGIN button on the top right of the screen.

 

 

 

A modal will appear requesting your email. Enter your email address and then continue.

You can access further help by selecting "Getting help logging in" the at the bottom of the modal.

 

 

 

A modal will appear requesting your password.

Enter your password and then submit.

If you have forgotten your password, select "Forgot password" for an email link to be sent.

 

 

 

You will now see a modal asking you to set up Multi-factor authentication or continue as normal.

• Selecting "Continue as normal for now" will take you to you projects.
• Selecting "Enable MFA" will take you to either a modal (Option A) asking you to enter the authentication code OR a modal (Option B) detailing how to set up an authentication app.

 

 

 

Option A

If you have already set up the app, then open it and find the code related to Edocs platform. 

Enter the code and select "Check code". 

 

 

 

Option B

To set up and authenticator app either scan the QR code or select "Need an app" to take you to the app selection screen.

 

 

 

Select an authenticator app and set up for use by scanning the Edocuments QR code built into the authenticator app. DON'T use the camera or native QR code reader.

The authenticator app will generate a code which you can input into the modal above and select "Check code".

 

You will only need to set up the authenticator app once. After this when you are asked to generate a code simply open your authenticator app and an Edocs code will be displayed.

 

Note: This QR code can only be used once to set up your authenticator app. You can't take a picture of the code and reuse it. 

 

 

 

Why MFA-  EDocuments are switching all users to multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security measure that requires users to provide two or more factors to authenticate their identity. This makes it much more difficult for attackers to gain unauthorized access to your systems and data, even if they have compromised a user's password. 

There are several reasons why MFA is important for enterprise customers, especially those who are certified to ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials: 

Compliance: Both ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials require organizations to implement MFA for certain types of users and accounts. EDocuments have therefore decided, enforce MFA for all users and accounts, including privileged users and users who have access to sensitive data. This will help to ensure that all of customers' systems and data are protected. 

 

How MFA can help to protect your enterprise customers:

Problems with switching to MFA 

The main issue we have run into is making the process simple to manage for all users, MFA should be easy for the customers' users to use, so that they are more likely to adopt it. It should also be easy for you to manage, so that you can easily add and remove users, and troubleshoot any problems.

EDocuments have found by using a smart phone with an MFA app is the simplest option, choice of authenticator app is important, and on Apple or Android either “Microsoft-Authenticator” or “Google-Authenticator“ are good choices. By scanning a QR code the MFA can be set up.
