Each system template usually consists of the following standard requirements and although the layout will vary to suit the customers requirements the way in which the content is added will remain the same.
In line guidance is provided in each section, when in Edit and Review modes.
- System Overview & Descriptions - text, tables, images
- Equipment & Material Schedule - tabular data entered using spreadsheet-style interface
- Operation - text, tables, images
- Maintenance
- Maintenance Literature - linked to specific pre-formatted content e.g. product manufacturers O&M literature, product manufacturers certificates, product manufacturers diagrams etc
- Maintenance text-based - procedures and frequency tabular information
- Files - all file types with metadata

Information can be added to Springboard in the following ways:
- Type information directly into templates - no prepared content
- Copy and pasting information into templates - Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V
- Import data from models
- Import data from tables e.g. spreadsheets, word tables
